Micro and Classic Accounts - What IP addresses should I use?

    With the MetaTrader 4 Platform:

When you open MetaTrader 4 you will automatically be connected to our server. If you indicate an IP address rather than a server name (such as Alpari-UK Live), MetaTrader 4 will store the IP address you have provided for future use. You will only have to input the new IP address once to be able to login correctly each time in the future.

When you launch the client terminal, it connects to our server loading a list of IP addresses. If you indicate an IP address, not a symbol-type server name when you log in for the first time, the next time you launch Metatrader 4 the application automatically loads the names of available trading servers. The IP address you previously typed in will be changed to the symbol type name of the server (for example "Alpari UK - Demo" or "Alpari UK - Micro" or “Alpari UK – Classic”).

Should one of the servers become unavailable, the client terminal will automatically switch to the next available server.

    With the Systematic Platform:
As opposed to MetaTrader 4, Systematic does not require any manual intervention for IP settings as it is web-based.

As an exclusive benefit for Alpari (UK) clients, MetaTrader 4 and Systematic are fully compatible. Accordingly, trades can be opened in Systematic and closed in MetaTrader 4, and vice versa.
Should you wish to benefit from this compatibility, please also refer to the MetaTrader 4 IP settings as explained above.

Why the switch to Micro and Classic accounts?

We have decided to implement this change in order to streamline our server performance and to improve the trading experience for our clients. Relatively less experienced clients are now able to develop their trading skills in a more controlled environment whilst more experienced traders will have a dedicated server to improve execution for larger trades.

Which account type is right for me?

Micro Accounts are designed to help novice traders and traders with no experience of FX whatsoever to make their first step into the market but without taking excessive risks.

Micro Accounts are good for experiencing the psychology of risk

-taking within reasonable limits because of the cap on volumes that can be traded.

Classic accounts are designed for experienced traders that plan to make serious trading decisions. Volumes are not capped and there is minimum trade size in effect.
