    On your application form you ask for my financial background and investment experience, why do you need this information for?

    We collect this information for our records and for regulatory reasons, it should not affect your application and you can be sure that all information is held safely.

    What is a telephone password?

    Telephone password is a password we ask when you contact us with any account queries. Telephone password can consist of a word or number or combination of both. Please note that we will never ask you for your master password that you use to login into your account. We recommend that you never reveal your master or telephone password to anyone.

    What is a certified copy?

    A certified copy is a copy of the original document that has been stamped and signed by a lawyer or bank manager as a “true copy” of the original. Certification must include date, name, address and signature of the person who performs the certification

    What if all my utility bills are not in my name?

    As a proof of address you can send us a copy of your recent bank statement.

    Can you accept my passport without certification?

    As a proof of address you can send us a copy of your recent bank statement.

    How long does it take to open a Live Account?

    It depends on how quickly you can provide us with the required supporting documents. On average the process takes a couple of days. Once the documents have been submitted, we should contact you within 1 business day. If you do not get any reply within 3 working days, please send an email to info@alpari.co.uk to check if we have received your documents.

    If I want to open more than one account, do I need to complete another application form and send ID documents?

    To open an additional account, all you need to do is to send a request to support@alpari.co.uk, specify your current login, currency you wish your new account to be denominated in and leverage on your new account. A new account will be opened for you as soon as possible.

    Can I open a joint account?

    Yes, you can. To open a joint account you would need to complete an offline joint account application form http://www.alpari.co.uk/files/doc/appform_joint.pdf and send ID documents for each applicant.

    Why do I need to certify my documents?

    As a regulated firm we have procedures in place to identify our clients and we take a risk based approach to this. Therefore it is sometimes necessary to ask client to have their identity documents certified before they are sent to us. One purpose of this to prevent impersonation fraud being committed against our clients, so this is in the interests of our clients.

    The list of countries for which certified documents are NOT required can be seen below:

    Hong Kong
    Japan
    New Zealand
    Norway
    Singapore
    South Africa
    Switzerland

    As we grow, we are constantly looking into the regulations of other countries so that we can accept uncertified copies from other countries.

    Please note that if you can provide a machine readable passport, then you may not have to certify it even if your country is not listed above.

    Can I change my application form after it has been submitted?

    Yes, you can. If you need to amend any information on the application form, please feel free to do so. You will need to print out the application form, make any necessary corrections, put initials next to the corrections, sign and send us a copy via email or fax.
